Gwent Police are looking to recruit Police Constables and Detective Constables from other Home Office Forces, who have completed their probationary period.

We are looking for Police Constables from all backgrounds, currently serving with other Home Office Forces. As well as many staff benefits we provide a wide range of career opportunities, specialist posts, as well as development and promotion prospects.

We are also looking to recruit qualified and experienced Detective Constables with skills and experience in managing a range of complex investigations, and/or experience of digital evidence gathering, dealing with cyber-enabled crimes, and an understanding of?a range of vulnerabilities and the appropriate ways to respond.

Police Officer (Transfer of Assessment Centre Scores) Recruitment

Based at: Gwent Police | Forcewide

Gwent Police are accepting transfer of Police SEARCH Assessment Centre results, to recruit new probationer Constables.

The criteria for transferring your results is as follows:

  • You must have attended a Police Assessment centre with a Home Office Force (national SEARCH process).
  • You must have sat your assessment centre within the last 12 months (i.e. not prior to October 2016).
  • Your assessment centre pass must be an overall score of 50% or above. (Please note all minimum scores must have also been achieved).
  • Candidates must hold a full manual driving licence, prior to an offer letter being issued.

Due to the current vacancy levels within the Southern Welsh Region, the Joint Firearms Unit would like to advertise for the transfer of currently accredited ARV officers at PC level.

The JFU is currently under represented by female and BME officers and we are additionally keen to receive applications from officers who are CTSFO or NFI accredited.

This process is NOT applicable to existing ARV officers currently serving within the Joint Firearms Unit.

As the Joint Firearms Unit is a Regional Unit if successful you could be posted anywhere in the Southern Welsh Region (Gwent, South Wales and Dyfed Powys Police). Preference to location will be taken into account however this is not guaranteed.

For operational consistency job share/part time would not be suitable.

Salary

£17,943 - £24,030 (plus weekend enhancements and 20% shift allowance)

Starting on £17943 attracting a 20% allowance for working 24/7 shifts thus £21,531 (plus another £2562 approx in weekend enhancements). Once fully competent in all 3 areas of the role you will be on at least £26,398 which includes your 20% shift allowance (plus another £3141 approx in weekend enhancements).

shift system is a 6 on 4 off system which,  as a guide is;  two day shifts (0700- 1700), two afternoon /evening shifts (1300-2100 or 1700-0100) and two evening or night shifts (1700-0300 or 2100-0700)
